When printing gummed labels through the manual tray labels stick. Customer said machine never did it before. I couldn’t see any problem inside. I cleaned machine and ran off about 6 pages of labels with no problem. Got a call this morning that machine is still sticking. Any ideas!!!!
Thank You
Jack

Check the box of labels. I would almost bet that they are peeling off of the sheet, because the gum isn't holding. Are they a well known brand?

Change the manual feed pickup roller and separation pad ...
If they print a lot of labels, this is wearing on the roller & separation pad -- cleaning will not be enough ... labels and other thicker paper types cause about 2-3 times as much wear on roller than regular paper ... the printer is probably due for a maintenance kit, I would just go ahead and install that ...

watch out for customers who put labels in the cassette tray. This happens so many times and it really burns me up. the labels will get jammed up behind the tray 1 p/u asm. Also, If the labels came off in the tray 1 p/u asm clean very good, because the glue may be hindering the labels from feeding. Customers frequently use non-standard labels, labels that have been exposed to moisture/humidity and or other little issues they may neglect to tell you. Most customers can be trained and try to do things the correct way, but there are a few out there that try to create challenges for us. Just remember you get to charge them if they're using the wrong stuff. :)
