Hp 4550 not Printing through manual feed

I have a Hp 4550 that is not printing through manual feed. It senses that the paper is there but does not feed, anyone know why?

A broken gear perhaps?
Do you hear anything when it tries to print?

Nothing from the manual feed. It moves straight to the paper tray. Nothing broken on it.

Does the software select the correct tray?
Is tray 2 set as default tray?

I had this strange problem at a customer that had upgraded the firmware.
That printer worked if you putted a paper in the manual tray and printed out a test print from the printer menu.
The strange thing was how it was solved....

Disabled the IPX that not even was in use !!!

So try disable the IPX...
