This printer has been working for several years without any problems, but now it's getting a 13.0A.00 In Top Cover Area. Everything looks good and sensors move fine. Neither changing out the fuser or doing a cold reset had any effect on the error message either. I'm open to suggestions...
Thanks,
David

Is it a duplex ETB? Manual only has 13.xx.yy, but I think it will be the ETB has a problem.

The service manual says:
13.XX.YY JAM IN TOP COVER AREA -
1.) Press ? for more detailed info about jam
2.) Press V or ^ to step through instructions
3.) Replace DC Controller & calibrate printer
4.) Replace Fuser
5.) Check fuser paper sensor is in place
My opinion:
1.) Check fuser sensor 1st. Make sure flag moves freely and in correct position (down position). Make sure sensor is clear of debris.
2.) Also there is a gear drive to the left of the fuser that moves the small gears on that side. These rotate independantly from the main fuser drive on the right side. If there is any debris under the fuser, it wont engage the small gears on the left. It will look like its flush and installed correctly, but may not be. This may or may not have anything to do with your problem, but costs you nothing to check it out. Remove the fuser, clean underneath, and reinstall.
3.) Reseat all cartridges.
4.) Replace DC Controller
5.) Replace fuser
Hope this helps you.

I figured out the problem... After looking at the amount of red toner blown over the inside (under the fuser and across the ciruit boards under the top cover) of the printer, I took a can of compressed air to the sensors to the left of the fuser, blew out all the toner, and kazam! the error message disappeared. Thanks for all the feedback!
