Hey guys I have a 4250 that is making a humming noise when printing. (It has the new swing plate assembly already). Also back door pops open when printing, the door looks good the hinges are ok, nothing seems broken from what I can see. Any ideas or suggestion will be great.

What about the gear on the fuser (the one that touches the swing plate gear)? Sometimes that is worn also ...

Probably the printer doesn't know the words:D

Besides a fan, what else will give a humming noise?

These machines usually make more noise than 4000's and even 4200's. They are faster. Does the humming occur all the time, only when it lifts paper in the tray, or only when the machine is printing?

noise only occurs when printing, it sounds like the fuser but if i open the rear door and paper exit out the back its nice and quite no more humming noise. i have order a maintence kit looks like its near the time for maintence well see if that works.

It could also be the output assembly "rattling" ... this makes sense if the noise goes away when you have paper exit via the rear door ... the output assembly is the last assembly at the top of the machine -- if you look at the machine from the front you'll see a group of tiny black rollers which push the paper out of the machine, and tiny "threads" hanging from the top of the assembly (static eliminators)...
