LJ 5000N - EIO Menu is gone...

Our LJ5000 came up with a series of errors about a month ago, all of which pointed to a bad JetDirect card. We've purchased two refurb J4169A's, but aren't getting an EIO menu on the printer with any of the three cards installed in either slot. We are getting valid Ethernet LED's on the print server.

Could this be a failure on the mainboard?

Do you get a page 2 when you print a Config Page?
If you do, does it show "i/o card not ready"?

Nope - single page.

Event log shows 13.1.50 errors (2) and 81.0180 error.

Why didn't you mention the errors before?
81.01 points to the EIO slot #1. Since you also put the cards into the other slot with the same results and assuming that the refurbished cards are good, I would go for the Formatter. Don't suppose you have another printer that you could put in one of these cards just to see what the config page looks like.

Are you sure that you put the Jet Directs into slot 2? You should have come up with an 81.02 in the event log
