If i try to print a row of red letters on a page the left hand side of the page is yellow gradually turning to red on the right side ???
I've tried a new toner cartridge..exactly the same..is it the laser unit behind the red cartridge or should i be looking elsewhere ??
cheers guys

Print a "config page".
At the very bottom of the page right above the horizontal yellow line is a row of tiny numbers.
It starts with "dh" . Count over to the ninth digit.
Add the 9th, 10th,11th and 12th digits.
Divide the total by 4. That gives you the average of the 4 numbers.
If that number is less than 58 the scanner is contaminated.
For example:- if the 4 numbers are 36 35 35 35 , then the average of the 4 values is 35.25. In this example the laser scanner is very contaminated.
