EPSON CX 4600 no ink on paper

I changed out the color ink and the black ink remained but now the printer wont apply ink to the paper. The ink cartridges were inserted properly and the film cover removed. There are no errors when printing or copying and the printer acts normail and swipes back and forth when printing or copying but no ink is applied to the page. Any ideas?

Did you try cleaning the cartridges?

The cartridges may be old. Try sitting them on a damp paper towel with the print head on the towel to dissolve dried ink. It may take a couple of hours, you will see ink start to show on the paper.

Cartridge snaps into the printhead and it slides back and forth to clean. Under that is an assembly with a rubber gasket that "caps" the printhead. This part is called the capper asm. at the bottom of this is a tube. As the ink ejects out while cleaning into the capper asm a pump siphons off the ink through this tube. It it is disconnected, no ink flows, hence blank pages. Verify this tube is connected properly.
