Error 57 is a main motor problem, could be the motor itself or a cartridge that is running heavy.
Even the DC controller can be faulty, I'd try another cartridge first.

Old printer, consider upgrading. If you decide not to follow below steps:


causes:

gears are seized
motor bad
dc contoller bad

resolution:

remove fuser-inspect coupler gears. rotate gears on fuser and verify no damage to fuser gears.

manually turn the motor with the fuser out, does the gears in the gear drive turn?

if defective, replace gear drive, fuser, or motor

replace dc controller.
