I'm sorry, excuse my ignorance, but does anyone know if I can get a wireless adapter for this printer, or does it need to be wired to a network in order for more than one computer to connect to it wirelessly.

I'm no expert on the wireless side of things. However, the printer already has network capability built in; it's just wired.

I don't know of a wireless adapter that plugs into a LAN port. I know that HP produced a few wireless LAN to USB adapters. Maybe you'll want to go that route...
