Epson Stylus Photo 1290

i recently got a second hand Epson Stylus Photo 1290, when i installed it the ink/paper light remains on and i cant change the ink because it remains in the parked position.
have tried holding dow the ink+paper feed buttons but still remains parked

any ideas???

I had the same problem with an epson 1400 stylus. I ran a russian reset software on it, that resets the ink spelling pad. This helped me.

I cant remember where i found the software but i believe the file was called something like epsonIPR utility.

it is just an exe file, and should detect your printer and fix it.

it worked fine on mine.
