EIO2 Hard Disk Question

Is it possible to replace the hard disk drive on the card and initialize it? I can't see paying more than $600.00 to replace the whole thing if it's only the disk drive that's required.

Not sure if I understand the question, but I doubt you can replace the HD from the EIO card, just the entire card. $600 for the card or the entire printer?

$600.00 for the whole assembly. But it's only a small laptop hard drive mounted on a circuit card with a power filter on one side and a voltage regulator and some surface mounted ICs on the other. As old as the technology is, I fail to see the reason for the pricing.

Changing the hard drive is as easy as removing and reinstalling the mounting screws.
