52.0, 41.2, 49.232C, 58.3 sometimes get a weird bubble patter along the edge of pages...
replaced scanner assy with a refurb...no real change...sometimes it will print a page ok and then the next time it starts throwing up the above codes...tried different scanner...removed jet direct card...
controller/main board problem?
thanks.

The errors are all probably false, except for the 49.
Thats firmware/formatter issue.
The bubbling on the side is the P/S-H/V.
I have that problem on a 4300 that HP says is ok, and when I got it back same thing! I replaced DC, PS/HV and even the toner reader to no avail.

The DC controller in this machine is prone to failure ... with all the various error codes being triggered, I would suspect the DC controller over the formatter ...

on most printers bubble print is hvps connectors not making good contact with the cartridge. on the 4100 check the contacts inside to make sure you have good contact. check cables for damage. If all that looks fine replace the engine controller board. RG5-5359.
since you're getting all the other problems and everything plugs into engine controller, that's probably the problem. You have to split the printer in half to get to it, after you've removed all the covers. If its your first time changing one let me know and I'll step-by-step for you. I've changed so many of these I can do it in my sleep.
