Printer Purchase Advice Needed

I need to purchase an inexpensive printer for everday B&W printing.

I do not need photo printing capabilities; speed is appreciated.

Can anyone suggest a very basic workhorse printer that might suit my needs?

The LaserJet 4Plus is a great workhorse printer, it is a well-known and widely supported printer, maintenance parts are cheap, and (most importantly these days) toners are cheap ...

However, the 4Plus is a little on the slower side, 12 pages per minute...

Something quite a bit faster, 25 ppm, the LaserJet 2300 series is a bit smaller than the 4Plus in its footprint, and it's a good small-office, home-office printer... it is still relatively inexpensive to maintain and operate...

If you want to print label, you can try some label software, like Label mx Pro - A barcode label designing and printing software. It supports Common printer (Color Ink-jet Printer or Laser Printer), Label Printer, Digital Printer as well as Industrial Printer-- "professional".
Or you can try Label Design Studio. --Lighter functions.

Are you a salesman or do you own the company?
I suppose you are going to post your "bar coding software" that will fix anything wrong with any printer everytime someone posts a problem with their printer.

HP 4000. The fuser wont last as long as 4+, but none of them will nowadays unless you go big with 5si/8000/8100 or go expensive with 4250/4350 or 4300. The 4000 can be aquired very reasonably. Can't find one, contact me. A 4000 anyone can work on also, less of a pain than 2300.
