Have an older Lex Z705 that I'm trying to get working to give away to charity. It was donated to me. New refurb 20 and 50 carts installed. Current driver is in. Printer management software is working - I can control the thing. XP Pro on a P-IV with gobs of memory and large HDD.

Test page prints. But, I think the blue is somehow missing. I don't see any blue coming through on the alignment, nozzle cleaning or on the test. I think that's all I need to do is get the blue working and someone's going to have a nice printer for free.

Can someone point me in the right place to get the blue to come out on the printer? I have pretty good tech skills and can take things apart here in the shop.

Thanks.

Why do you think that the blue is missing?
Why not think that the blue is there?
Think positive!

Just print a blue page. If the page is blank you thought right. If it isn't consider your self color blind.

Appears we have somewhat of a wise-*** here... There's nothing worse than coming to a place looking for a little help and getting a moron to respond and waste everyone's time. I do hope this forum isn't home to these types.

Think positive - {fire up appropriate "thinking positive" music} Oh good - here's a positive thought - get lost!

Now that we've dispensed with this complete nonsense, would there be someone here who has seen this (or a similar symptom) before show or tell me how to unblock the blue? Is there perhaps a mechanism inside the printer itself that heeds to be unclogged?

I printed a blue page lilke my "friend" suggested. Actually, I did up a simple blue rectangle in Photoshop and did a print. The rectangle comes out violet. This violet looks almost exactly like the "CYAN" on the Lexmark test page print from the Lexmark software. The cyan isn't really cyan... Quality looks perfect with no streaks or misses.

So ink is making it to the page - it's just the wrong color.

OK friend, Now that you positively know that it's not printing blue. Go put OEM cartridges in the printer and try again. Also delete and reinstall the drivers.

See friend, sometimes morons are correct, and what does that make you?;)
