The problem here, is it makes no sense.

You get a jam msg only when printing on plain paper.
And you get a jam msg when you print on photo paper. So, in other words,
you get a jam msg when you print with any paper.

Clean the rollers and check the paper path for an obstruction.

I checked out the printer specs at Amazon.

Product Dimensions: 15.2 x 18.4 x 7.8 inches ; 38.8 pounds
Shipping Weight: 21 poundsNow how can this printer weigh 39 pounds, but when shipped it loses 18 pounds and weighs 21 pounds in the box.

Now if only they can put me in a box, na it'll never work!

shipping weight could be the dimensional weight

Jeff, no disrespect meant for the admin of this great forum, but shouldn't the shipping weight be more than the product?since it includes packing material and a box, and dimensions don't have weight.

Again I'm sorry for questioning your insight.

basically its an error by Amazon. Per HP user guide, actual specs are:

Physical specifications
● Height: 16.97 cm (7.0 inches)
● Width: 44 cm (16.8 inches)
● Depth: 25.9 cm (10.2 inches)
● Weight: 4.5 kg (10 pounds)

which is under shipping weight of 21 lbs. :)

Can you clarify when you get paper jam? It seem you get paper jam when you print in both plain paper and photo paper. Check and clean the printer and try restarting it fresh.

Dimensional weight == suppose you're shipping only 10 lbs of material but it's in a HUGE box, UPS will upcharge for what they call "dimensional weight" ... they might list your box as having 38 lbs when you're only shipping 10lbs, because they also calculate the dimensions of your box ...
