Old Gateway 2000 computer using Windows 98 - trying to print a MS Word page, our 6P top recoverable error light is on (steady) - won't print. Message in Word is: paper tray is empty (or out of paper). Paper tray is full, not empty. Never had this happen before. Could it be just a toner cartridge empty problem? The cartridge is installed correctly and there is no paper jam.
Thanks.

There is a sensor hanging from the roof of the tray cavity that determines whether paper is present ...
a common problem is for the black plastic slider guides that help you install the tray correctly to be broken, this causes the tray to sit slightly crooked when it slides into the printer ... try propping the titled side of the tray up with something...
