i have a 2840 new i only use it for 3 months until once of the toner spill inside a friend of mine try to clean out the toner with air spray now when we plug in in the printer and turn it on all you hear is a quiet low beep it does not come on the control panel does not light up or nothing does it have a fues or anything does anyone know what's wrong

The toner is mostly plastic powder with a little iron oxide.
Doubtful this caused the problem. I sounds like the power
supply is not working. This should be under warranty. Most
cities have an HP authorized shop. You could contact one
and see what they say. They can easily check with the
HP site and determine if it is under warranty.

Usually on a 2840 a toner spill means that toner got in the Carousel gears. When toner gets in the gears they jump over
each other and get out of alignment.

When did you buy the printer?
What brand toner are you using?

When I see this in the field, the user is always using non HP toner.
Cha-ching $400 bill!!
Never blow the toner out of the machine, always vacuum.

it's little over a year now big al do u know about how much it is for a power supply or where i can get 1 to buy i would just replace it, like u said it seeem like the power supply which i was suspecting 2
