View Full Version : hp c3180 all in one..installed correctly...cant use it

hi there...i installed my new printer correctly according to the instruction....
my computer knows its there when i turn it on...but my computer does not see that there is a printer there in control panel..also neither does photoshop...
have i missed something?
there is hp stuff in the program files
do i need to set up the software myself?

im running windows xp

any help will be really appreciated as im in the middle of a job

If the printer does not show up in the Control Panel, then the printer is NOT installed correctly ...
if you have a CD, go back & reinstall the printer ... or go to HP's web site and download an appropriate driver.

HP have a driver scrubber for some of their printers which may be useful here.. I don't have all the instructions but if you look around you should be able to find a site with info on how to remove all old driver info for your printer. This will then allow you to reinstall the latest driver and get things working without the old stuff getting in the way.

Is it on a network?
