Laserjet 4M, printing from both Windows and Mac

I have used Laserjet 4 from Windows for many years now....

I have added a Postscript module (I think it is a Laserjet 4M-printer now) and have connected the printer to my network (Jetdirect J2372) and from the panel set up a printer IP-address.


I can print from Mac OS 7.5.5, 9.2.2 and X. It also work just fine from Win 2000 and Xp.

What is the problem?

If I print one page from Mac(using AppleTalk/ethertalk) – after that I cant print from Xp.
After power the printer off and on:
I can print from Win Xp – after that I cant print from Mac
- and vice versa.

1) Anyone know why this happens?
2) And is there a better way than power on and off the printer to solve this problem?

JetDirect MIO Internal Print Server card (J2372) can bee the problem.

I (and HP support) used many hours searching... here is the result:

Looks like a good replacement for the J2372 network card is the J2556 network card (http://printertechsdotcom.stores.yahoo.net/hpjenecaj2.html)
