8000DN Fan/PowerSave Question

Any idea what would cause the fan(s) to keep running on a 8000DN after the printer has entered powersave mode? Are they supposed to cut off?? We have a 5Si also and its fans totally shut off when it goes into powersave mode. Someone said it might be a thermostat... where is that and can it be replaced??
