Techs,

I just replaced the fuser on my HP 2430. The printer seems much louder now. There's a vibration in the rollers that seems to be causing the excess noise. Any thoughts on corrective measures?

Thanks,
Bill V

Did you try re-seating it? You probably did, I just thought I'd ask!

Return your fuser for a warranty or refund ...
Make sure the company you purchase from replaces fuser gears and bushings and greases them (PrinterTechs does)...
There is a fuser drive gear that sits in the printer that should be replaced with the new fuser, PrinterTechs includes this gear in their maintenance kits...
Link to that kit:

-if the sound is somewhat like a crouching cat nails over a fiber glass or somewhat like thin distorting sound.possible cause of that was motor inside the scanner assy.

Make sure wherever you buy the fusers they replace the pressure roller bushings on every one. In addition, sometimes its the gear in the printer that makes contact with the fuser gear that is causing the problem.

My company sells a repair kit with the following parts in it. There are other vendors that sell similar kits and/or the individual parts. But if the fuser's under warranty sent/take it back.

RU5-0377 GEAR, 28T FUSER DRIVE 1
RU5-0378 GEAR, 20T FUSER DRIVE 1
RU5-0379 GEAR, 19T FUSER DRIVE 1
RU5-0331 GEAR, 29T FUSER DRIVE 1
RC1-3610 BUSHING, LOWER PRESSURE ROLLER, LEFT 1
RC1-3609 BUSHING, LOWER PRESSURE ROLLER, RIGHT 1

Absolutely correct prntrfxr! It is usually the two gears that will come off by pressing the tabs.
