laserjet 6p prints multipage document on one page

i have a laserjet 6p with a generic 16M simm in one slot. recently, after about 6 years of flawless operation, i am getting a strange problem.

basically all the information of a multipage document all prints on a single page. if i print a single page document, everything is fine.

i am going to do a cold reset (short) and a cold reset (long), and try without the simm in it, but i thought id post to see if anyone else is having this problem, or has suggestions.

The only thing it could be, if it is the printer at fault, is the formatter.

my laserjet 6p had the same problem with printing muliple pages on one page. I deleted the driver and reinstalled it and it has worked fine ever sence.
