I have a LJ 5500DN Color printer that is getting a 13.02 Paper Jam..upon investigating, I found the paper tray wasn't lifting. Does this printer have the same problem with the lifter motor as the 4200/4300 ? After removing the covers, I can see that the lifter motor doesn't even turn on..Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Murphy

The lifter motor has two functions. Forward and reverse. Tray one,{mp} rotates backwards to feed. Tray two rotates forward to feed.
ergo, the motor is bad.

If the lifter motor is bad..does anyone have a part number so I can order it. I don't have a parts manual or any kind of reference material to get it.

Thanks in Advance,

Murphy

I have no experience with the 5500, however
I've got two part numbers for the lifter assembly RG5-6665-000CN and RG5-6676-000CN.

I'm sure that MT or Paul will come up with something.

Murphy, I'll be working on a 5500 today, and I'll get back to ya this afternoon.

I finally revisited this printer with the mysterious jamming issue..questioned the end-user about the events leading up to the printer not working. She hadn't mentioned this at my first visit but finally revealed that there had been a paper jam, she had tried to remove the paper but only succeeded in shredding the paper....When I looked in the area that she pointed out, there it was, a small bit of paper stuck between the rollers..you really had to look closely with a bright flashlight to see it buried inbetween the feed rollers..took a bit of standing on my head to get it out but after removing it, everything started to work just fine..mystery solved. Thanks for everyone's input. Lesson learned on this one.. Murphy
