I am a little confused as to what a recommended replacement is and a comparable replacement. I have a HP LaserJet 2200 and on HP's website they recommend the P3005 Series printers as a recommended replacement. A technician told me that he would recommend a 2300 or a 1500 series printer as a comparable replacement. He told me that the P3005 is overload. Now, I have a small office with about 30 employees. They all print to this printer. Ultimately, I purchased a LaserJet 1505N to replace the 2200. It just doesn't seem like a comparable replacement. The toner only has a 2000 page capacity and the 2200 seemed to have a higher capacity. Was I steered in the wrong direction?

I would recommend getting a professionally-refurbished LaserJet 4000/4050/4100 series printer...these printers are designed for the medium-volume use you describe ... also a 2300 series printer would be a decent replacement... any of these printers would be a "step-up" from the LaserJet 2200 in terms of intended volume use...the parts are "hardier".

For example, your LaserJet 2200 parts are rated by HP to last up to 100,000 pages in between maintenance cycles...
LaserJet 2300 parts are rated to last up to 150,000 pages in between maintenance cycles...
LaserJet 4000 or 4050 or 4100 parts are rated to last up to 200,000 pages in between maintenance cycles...

On newer printers like the P1505N & the P3005: many times toners (price per page) are too expensive in comparison to these older discontinued series, and the maintenance kit parts are hard to find & expensive.
