Static IP reverting to DHCP

We are in a DHCP environment with static IP addresses allocated to printers.
Numerous printers (different makes and models) are reverting back to a DHCP
addresses without any manual intervention. Does anyone have any ideas of
what could be causing this?

Has this been since day one, or did this malady just occur to all your printers?

Maybe someone is doing a cold reset without telling you?
