HP Deskjet 656c oddness

Hi again...it seems I'm not having good luck with printers....anyway, the laser printer I have probs with in another thread was bought to replace this printer but if I can get it working properly I'd love to use both, the thing is that this printer used to print all my pictures in greenscale (like it was being looked at through green plastic wrap), now it just prints them in black and white, I replaced the color ink to no avail. This printer is disconnected but I could easily plug it back in if necessary.
I bought this new btw, I'm the only person to use it and it worked fine for maybe a week or so....

If you brought the printer new and it failed after a week, why haven't you returned it?

I bought it NOS (New Old Stock) off ebay, as-is no returns. If it's not something I can fix it's okay since it was incredibly cheap but if I can fix it then I'd like to.

99% of crap bought on eBay doesn't work. Why do you think the prices are so good?
