Some how my epson R200 no longer showed up in my control panel under fax and printer as a printer. There was nothing in the add/remove programs to uninstall or install. I tried to install it and the options were, reinstall driver, install software, manual. I clicked on the reinstall driver it said it was installed and did I want to print a text page. Then it said that operation was not available.
So I tried to install a epson R220 and didn't have the install cd, so downloaded it from the epson site. Went through the install process and it message was cannot install this hardware
there was a problem installing this hardware. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The RPC server is unavailable. I do not know what to do..Please advice

Take a breath

Unplug the USB cable
Uninstall the driver. Put the CD back in and install the driver.

Now plug the cable back in.

See if that works for you

To uninstall an epson printer(even one that has been'deleted')go to "start", 'programs', Epson(or Epson printers) then uninstall printers.
