HP 5550 DTN Color

I have a "Card Slot not initialized" error and I can't find that info in the manual.. I have tried with and without the NIC card and tried to init the hard drive from the control panel.. Any ideas out in the group?

You should get HP's WebJet Admin. Free. Use it to manage all networked printers. Allows firmware upgrades that can help a lot of problems.

This error could be from the board the card is plugging into.

There is a riser card on the backplane/formatter. However again I get this error with the Net card in or out.. The net light is on but I can't ping it or see it on the network. I can print from the control panel. I have not tried the other serial ports.

did you try COLD RESET?

do you have a hard disk on there?if so ,you could try a hard disk initialization.which would be powering on and when the memory count starts,press and hold the menu button until the led's flash then come on and stay on.release it and use the arrows to scroll to "initialize disks".then hit the menu button again.

If you are not seen on the network, then the NIC could be the problem.
What model? If a 600, or 615, go with the 620n.
