HP 1500L Formatter

I have an HP 1500L that appears to have a bad formatter. We have a spare HP 2500 that I can use for parts. Will the formatter from the 2500 work in the 1500?

NO, have you ever discovered a part for one HP printer that will fit in a different model printer????

i would think not either,though i suppose it's possible.for one thing though ,the 1500 has a host based formatter.where the 2500 has a page description language formatter.also,the 1500 has USB connection only.and the 2500 has USB ,parallel, and an EIO slot.

If all the plugs are the same, try it. (as long as plugs are all the same) You will more than likely not hurt anything. Only possible outcome is the printer being "confused" in some way, other result could be that you converted a 1500 into a 2500

Be prepared to buy a formatter for the 2500.
