I have a LaserJet 2100 that displays no lights on control panel when in READY state. When powering the printer up, the ATTENTION and GO LEDs will go through a short initialization pattern and the printer will make normal sounding power up noises for a couple seconds. Afterward, everything goes out - noises, lights, everything! The ATTENTION LED will blink if I raise the toner access door. I cannot get the printer to do a self-test using the buttons either - no lights. I have verified that the exhaust fan does work.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

did you try an engine test from the button on the back of the printer?could be a power supply or formatter issue.

check if all the buttons are allright, using the multimeter, if you have an extra DIMM on formatter board removeit, if you have a Jetdirect card remove that also, the try to print a self test. if the problem persist, try to replace the formatter board with one that you know it works, if there is the same problem with the new formatter board check if the plate multiconductor wire on the top has any damage on conection pads, it might be a problem with the communication between the formatter and the main engine drive board placed above the tray 2 inside the printer.
I hope you will get it right !
