I've just installed a new LJ2605dn printer in a small school that I support. The clients are all printing directly via a tcp\ip to the printer, (the school has no central server). The problem is that even with the test page or a single page doc, sent to the printer, it will not stop printing the page, over and over until he job is canceled. We used the drivers right off from the software CD that is shipped with the printer. I have to say I have never seen this behavior before, any ideas would be helpful. Thank you.

one thing you could do is unplug it from the network and try to print any pages from the printer itself to see if the printer has basic functionality with the firmware/formatter.you could try to connect to it directly via usb and print from the applications.basically to bypass the network and internal nic.if it don't work from being hooked up directly and printing from applications,it could be a driver/application conflict.otherwise if it works from those. it could point to network, network cable,or nic issue.

Thank you for the quick response and the good troubleshooting tips! I have tried printing internal reports from the printer itself and that works fine. I'll give the direct connect via USB a try next. Thank you again. I'll post back if I find the problem.

sometimes switching drivers will help this, especially if it is only just from certain applications.it helps to know if it's happening from all applications or you can narrow it down to certain applications or even certain types of documents.like trying to print a complicated post script job from a PCL driver.
