Hi

(Title should read "Brother".)

I have owned my brother printer for a little over 6 months and it stopped working.
I got an error on the LCD display that reads "INIT UNABLE 43". I can't find an error "43" online or in my guide but I did find "INIT UNABLE" in my guide it says mechanical problem.
I unplugged the printer power and USB for a good 5 mn and plugged back in still nothing but the error message.
I use compatible ink cartridges(Not the official Brother cartridges) and the only thing I can see is while inspecting the cartridges I noticed the
"Yellow" one has leaked, there is a large ink spot on the cartridge and I assume the print head too but I can't see well in there even with a flashlight.
I tried having the printer clean the print head or do a test print but it won't let me.
Do you think the print head has been damaged?

Anything will help

Thanks a lot

Patrick

If you can't get an answer here
Ask your question to the Brother people.
