I have a 8550DN that when printing multiple pages will print 2-10 pages fine and then will print one page with faded print on 10 percent of the trailing edge. Printer will then print 2 more pages with solid black with some colors mixed in.
Printer will stop and then display 41.3 error.
I looked up 41.3 error and it stated that the paper size is incorrect for the paper in the drawer. I have checked this and it is not incorrect. Reseating results in print job stopping.
make sure all the tray guides are adjusted according to what size you have in there and the tray switch is set for custom or standard according to what you are using.
make sure all the size settings jive between the printer menu, drivers, and application selection.
on the side of the cassette trays (or actually at the back of the trays ,depending on how you look at it),on the outside of the trays there is some size detection switches(4 for each tray) and some fingers on the tray make contact with them according to what the guides in the tray are set for.make sure these are not blocked or anything or anything broken.
often this can be caused by double picking out of a paper tray.

Check the cleaning roller mounted below the fuser {from inside} and the ICL cam on the right of it. A worn cam can cause this problem, and the drum mount on the right at the drive gear if plastic, can be cracked. A PEP kit has the newer metal guide, and the ICL kit is a separate item.
