How do I get page count on a LJ 5P?

Have a fairly old LaserJet 5P, which is starting to leave a vertical bar on all pages. Suspect a drum (??) and wonder what the overall use on this machine is. No display....anyone know how to print a test page with this information on it? Thanks in advance if you can help.

Hold both buttons down for 2 secs.
Toner is bad, may be toner spilled on the H/V contacts of the main board.
