A few months ago, my printer LCD read "very low black" or something to that effect. Knowing from experience that the printer would refuse to print (an annoying feature) in any color the moment it decided it was "empty" (which isn't really even empty) I promptly ordered some new ink. I installed the ink, but the LCD continued to read "very low black." Being busy and annoyed, I ignored this message. Now my printer is at that point where it refuses to print, claiming that the black ink cartridge is empty, when I can plainly see that the cartridge is nearly full. (Note: I only use the printer for school, and this happened over the summer months when I maybe printed a total of 20 pages, so it's not possible for the ink to be empty). Is there a way for me to reset this message, or otherwise fix the problem?

I've pulled out the cartridge and put it back in again, but then the LCD displays "no cartridge." Unplugging the printer for 10 seconds clears this message, but it still claims that the cartridge is empty.

Thanks!

i think there's something wrong with the printer itself... you might want to buy a new one...

I think the problem you have mentioned is related to the printer setting, just make sure you have installed the drivers of printer correctly and also the you have set the settings of printers also.
It is better you show your printer to an expert, then you can be more clearer with that.

only buying a good quality printer doesn't solve your problem, but selection of right combination of photo paper and Ink cartridge (http://freephotopaper.com/ink_store.htm) is also important.
