From printertechs.com:

"** Note: HP Laserjets 8100, 8100N, 8100DN, 8150, 8150N, 8150DN use the same maintenance kit. Also the maintenance kit installation procedures are identical for the laserjet 5si series, 8000 series, 8100 series, and 8150 series printers (but the part numbers are different in the 8100/8150 kit vs. the 5si/8000 kit). **"

Is the maintenance kit for the 8100 series compatible with the 5Si? It is getting time for me to replace my 5Si fuser and I have an 8100 fuser available.

Thanks!

HP LaserJet 5Si/8000, Canon WX, Lexmark Optra N: There are several different fusers here: RG5-1863 (5Si), RG5-4447 (8000), and 11A8233 (Optra N). But these are all Canon WX engines, and the three fusers are completely interchangeable. The 8000 fuser has an extra cleaning roller that the other two do not have, so it is the preferred model, but any of the three fusers will fit and work in any of these printers.

HP LaserJet 8100/8150: These printers and their fusers (RG5-6532) look almost identical to the WX printers in the previous group, but this is a substantially different engine, and the fuser does not interchange with the WX fuser. The most obvious difference is that the WX fuser has two large connectors, while this fuser has only one.

Simon78 is correct, the 5si & 8000 use the same kit, the 8100 & 8150 use a different kit. Installation procedures are the same.
