Then too Open and Close Top Cover.

Just can't figure out how to clear jammed paper just sticking out of the back?

thanks

where exactly is it stuck?is it sticking part way out of the output bin on top?there is a door in the back that you should be able to open and access the jam.you may have to pull it out of the output rollers or fuser delivery assembly(depending on where exactly it is stuck).if after removing the jam;you open and close the top cover or power off and on and the error clears, then when you print ,the jam happens again.it would usually indicate a timing jam, where perhaps the paper is slipping along the way and not exiting past a sensor in the correct timing and shutting down.where is the leading edge of the paper when it jams?sometimes ,if the back door is closed to exit out the top,it can jam up in the output assembly and would usually crunch up at the output assembly.does it happen with single page print jobs?multiple page print jobs?if it is a timing jam, something could be slipping anywhere along the way causing it.if it makes it that far,i would guess offhand that it may be slipping in the registration area at least.you could try to print jobs from each tray and see if it does it from all trays or just one.this can help narrow it down.if the registration is an issue ,sometimes cleaning the rollers there can help this.it can be a bit tough to get to however.

fuser could be an issue here.has it been a long time since a maintenance kit has been replaced on the printer?

Try printing with the back door open.
If it prints ok, shut the door and try printing.
If the paper fan folds, you have to remove and clean or replace the face down delivery assembly.(RG5-2648)
Fuser is RG5-2661

Oh, grab the paper at the two exposed corners and pull gently.
