a new lj4250 with a duplexer - print job exits the output and pulls back through the duplexer only to stop with the page half way out of the duplexer (Q2439B)

Check the paper size settings, there may be a page pulled up into the feed assy, but not getting through. Check the tray separation pad, and the p/u rollers for wear.

Tried a new duplexer and the led read Bad Duplexer Connection and then Bad LOCID -12013 - put the old duplexer in and there was no problem with the connection (but won't duplex)

Does the printer work without the duplexer?

The duplexer you put in as a replacement might have been a Q2439A instead of a Q2439B. The 'A' version only works in the 4200/4300.

I have tried a new duplexer (Q2439B) and also a known good duplexer from another lj4250 and the printer works fine with the original duplexer in place or without it but will not duplex

I know, stupid question: Is duplexing selected in both the printer, and the driver?
