HP 4600N Solid block on LCD

Customer has a 4600N that has solid blocks on the status LED. Cycling power doesn't help. Any suggestions as to what might be going on?

Could be a faulty display.

You said LED, you mean the LCD display right? If you are getting this on the display you could have a bad formatter board. Try removing the jetdirect card and any extra memory from the formatter.
