LJ 4 image problems

I just installed a maintenance kit in a LJ4 and it is still printing like it did before the kit. The customer brought a sample page and it had gray horizontal sections top to bottom.

After the kit this happens again, but gets worse and worse until the whole page is gray over the text. It seems like the photo drum is not getting cleaned each time. I checked the rotation of the drum-works fine.

I don't suppose you've tried changing the toner cartridge have you?
The DC Controller can also cause this problem. You should clean the contacts on the printer where the cartridge makes contact.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to find a toner cartridge and it did the trick.
