Hi

I have an HP4050 fed by a network server. The printer originally documents of any length with no problem. For the last few weeks it "hiccups" anywhere from 15 to 30 pages into a document, looses sync and drops the job. The printer is running from a plug in HP Print server. I replaced that but the problem continues.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for asking - tried replacing the JetDirect card - made no difference.

Anything plugged into a UPS? Make sure it's plugged directly into the wall socket. You may have failing memory. Re-seat both chips in the formatter.

Thank you for your comment. The printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet with no power strip or UPS etc.

I will pull the memory out, clean its contacts and see what happens after I put it back in.

Thanks

Redcow (and whoever else might be reading this)

Thank you for the suggestion but that didn't do it. I finally found a manual, found the doors, and opened them. There are no simms plugged in to any sockets - so the system is running with just the factory provided memory.

I am not worried about opening the machine if someone can point me at some instructions.

Thank you
