This one has me stumped. I have a HP5si which prints only the middle of a letter size page. That is the first and last fourth of the page is blank. Just the middle two fourths print. I have already ruled out the toner cartridge, transfer roller, formatter bd., laser scanner asm. and the door that allows the scanner beam to reach the photoconductor drum during the image writing phase. Any ideas?

Make sure all the paper sizes are correct for each drawer.

Is this all printing?
Does this also occur when you print a config page?

Thanks patpur for leading me in the right direction. It was not really a paper tray set wrong. It was however loose paper jammed between the rear of tray 2 and the switches that detect the tray paper size settings thus giving the printer an incorrect paper size reading. I'm puzzled as to why I did not get a incorrect paper size error. Hmmm, anyway the problem is resolved. Thx.

You didn't get a paper size error because the printer only checks the paper length in the feed direction, not the width.
