According to the repetitive defect ruler for the 4050 the defect is being caused by the Photosensitive Drum. would this be the same ruler used for the 4250 and if so what is the Photosensitive Drum and how is it replaced?

The defect ruler for the 4200,4250,4300,4350 is not the same as the defect ruler for the 4000-4050 series. And if you don't know what the photosensitive drum is, you certainly shouldn't be looking at defect rulers in the first place.

First, thank you for the information about the rulers are different. Since there is no defect ruler listed for a 4200-4350, would it be the same as the 4100?

Second, how rude of you to state that I should not be looking at the ruler if I do not know what an item on the ruler is. Are you an auto mechanic? If not, why do you look at your engine in your car? The defect ruler is to help determine what the cause of a problem is. In troubleshooting, you try to narrow the cause as much as possible before coming to a conclusion and determining a path to resolution. In this example, if the photosensitive drum is part of the fuser, I can then tell the client there is a problem with the fuser and this is why and then the client can either contact HP if under warranty or purchase a replacement fuser if not.
