I am new here so please bear with me. I did a search through the forums to try and find an answer to my problem and was unable to find one. If I have missed something, please direct me to what I missed.

My 4000 is displaying Tray 2 Open. As a result, I have to manually feed pages into tray 1 (manual feed tray) when printing. Up until now I sucked it up however, I now have to make 5 copies of a 65 page document and don't feel like standing by the printer to feed in the pages.

I have checked everything I can see and ensured nothing is in the way of the tray. My guess is that the "Tray Availability" sensor is jammed or broken. As a result, I have the following questions:

Does anyone know where this sensor is?
Can it easily be changed?
Is there something else I should check?
Is there a schematic for this or any other problem that may occur?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the Feeder controller PCA (RG5-2673) needs replacing, you can find it at the right hand side of the tray slot towards the back, you'll need a bit of printer experience to replace it.
