LJ 3500 with faint lines across page sometimes

I have a customer who has a LJ3500 that sometimes will have faint lines running across the page side to side. I replaced the transfer roller and it helped alittle. But the faint lines still show up every now and then. Any one ever see this problem?

Print a few sheets, and open top cover while printing. Are there lines on the two sheets of paper in the printer? Check the sheet that is not at the xfer roller yet. If it has lines try the toner cart. Look at the sheet thats past the xfer roller.

What do you mean "across the page side by side"?

What I meant was that the faint lines are running across the page side to side not top to bottom. Have you ever seen this problem? Not all copies have the faint lines.
