I have an original HP 5P that will no longer accept paper input from the paper tray nor the manual feed tray. I assume that the rollers are worn and need replacement. The mechanics of the printer sound fine and it attempts to pull in the paper, but, alas, no movement. The print quality is still good, so I would like to replace the rollers, if possible. It's been a good little printer with a significantly less than average paper count for its age. Can someone advise me on how to get reasonable parts and instructions to replace the rollers? Thank you.

I hope you realize that it is a great deal of work to change the P\U roller.
You can try to peel off the old rubber, and slip the new on, but it is very hard to do that.
Any time I have to do this, the unit usually needs a complete refurbishing.
This accomplishes several things: Clean off any toner bulld-up on the H\V contacts, paper dust built up in the P\U assy. itself, exit roller, and general cleaning.
Removal of the fuser, formatter, hidden screws, and the entire bottom controller pan. And make sure the flag at the top is set in properly before re-assembly. Hope you have a manual.

Take what MichaelTech has said, the 5P is one of the worst printers to work on.

I think its best for her to take it to a professional, I really do hope you would remember how to put the printer back together and tear the printer down without breaking anything, some of those parts u cannot get anymore.

5P printers are a pain to work on, I only work on these unless I really have too, and I don't really bother myself with these printers, I prefer the newer printers eaiser to get into.
