HP 722C issue

I just changed the black ink cartridge on my HP 722C printer and there is a flashing light that says I have the wrong cartridge in the machine. Of course it's the right one. I did try and clean the contacts on both sides and got rid of some of the dried ink where the carriage rests, but to no avail. Can't seem to get that light to stop flashing. Any suggestions?

Have you un-plugged the unit yet? Hold down the resume and on buttons when you plug it in. Hold for the count of 9, and let go . This will re-set it, and it might see the cartridge as correct. If this is a third party ink, it's probably bad.
