Hi Guys

New here and seems like it's the right place to be for good advice on printers.

I'm the IT guy at a company where we need a printer that can handle around 1000 pages of A4 printing a week. We also need colour on some prints though most will be text.

We have tried inkjets (mostly home models) and they just can't cope. Also tried a thermal wax printer and it was too costly to run....

So, what we need is the most cost effective method of achieving this weekly volume with as little maintenance and downtime as possible.

Maybe colour photocopier or laser ?, im lost :(

If you need about 150 pages a day, or at once, you should look at the
HP CLJ3000n. It will handle large print jobs better than the 2600, and is easy to maintain. Caution! These units are very fragile! Take extreme care in opening\closing, installing consumables. Do not buy a used one. Get it new.

Have you checked on Kyocera Printers. They can be a bit pricey but they have a low cost-of-operation. The FS-C5030N is durable, prints full color at around 20 ppm, modular parts so the operator can do some maintenance, it will also handle 1000 prints a month without breaking a sweat. You can also look for a FS-C5016N used. It was the first of these models. It is a great printer as well and modular. It prints full color at around 5cents (US) a page. You might be able to find a used one for less than $1500(US). It uses LEDs instead of lasers so the quality is not as good but it is still great quality.
