It seems there is a Fuser Malfunction on a HP LJ 6P (based on the leds). I've unmounted the Fuser Assembly aso. without any change. The thing is that HP charges 200 € for a new assembly without service!! In my opinion, that's the cost of a pretty good LJ printer and not the price of a spare part.

So that leaves me with two options: fix it cheep myself somehow or throw away the printer. Does anybody now how to fix the printer?

I've checked the FU101 fuse, dismounted and cleaned the rollers.

Help is much appreciated.

Do a web search for the fuser. You should find one much cheaper than a new HP fuser.

I would consider a new printer. Fusing problems can easily be caused by power supply and/or dc controller issues. You might find yourself with a new fuser and a printer that still doesn't work. For a very little bit of money you can get a new laserjet that's faster, more reliable, and has a warranty (technical support too).
I've always had tons of problems with the 'P' series printers.
