Hi,
I am trying to connect an old HP Laserjet 4MP to Windows 2000 Pro using the serial cable.
As far as I can tell, I have the correct drivers installed, configured it on LPT1, set it as the default printer, turned on all access permissions for all users.
Under the printer properties, I see what loks like all the relevant and correct settings for the printer.
Whe I try to print anything, the document briefly appears on the Printers Queue, the data light flashes a few times, the Form feed light flashes, too, and that's the last I see of my document.
I've tried:
Installing new drivers through Windows Update
Changing the Serial port from Localtalk to RS-232
Reinstalling it on other LPT ports (2 and 3)
Complete Self Test of the printer and printed a test page from the printer
Still nothing happens.
Help, I'm stumped. I know the printer has worked in the recent past connected to another Windows 2000 Pro machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Kakaze
